Report Post. Hey, I have the same problem as you and the same graphics card. I don't promise this will work because I just tried it, but the results have been promising so far. Go to the GeForce Experience app if you don't have it, download it , click on the drivers tab, and then in the upper right hand corner check include beta drivers. Download the latest beta driver version Let me know if this doesn't work and I'll tell you if I find a different solution.
Btw, was this a one time crash or does this consistently happen. Also, when does it happen? I crash while playing graphically intensive games. I don't allow it to for this very reason.

The new drivers are more geared towards improving performance on the series GPU's. The series isn't even being thought of by Nvidia now. An updated driver caused this. GeForce Experience may be nice for updating newer cards, but detrimental for the older ones. Nvidia wants people to replace their older cards, believe that..
