Gruffalo word rhyming game review
It is a well-written book for children with rhyming text by Julia Donaldson and fantastic illustrations by Axel Scheffler bringing the story to life.
This game is from University Games. It is suitable for ages 4 years old and upward with 2 to 4 players. This game helps your little ones develop their reading skills as they make rhyming sequences in order to win the game.
The objective of the game is to be the first player left with no cards by playing cards that follow a rhyming word sequence. Playing a mouse card is like a wild card. The next player can then swap the colour of the card.
Playing the Gruffalo card allows that player to swap cards with another player. Squirrel, cake etc. A great way to encourage child to learn their colours is to get them to group things of the same colour together. Remove one card from each colour i. Place each of the coloured cards on a table or floor, allowing sufficient space between each card approx 15cm 3.
Shuffle the remaining cards 4. Give the pile of cards to your little one and ask them to place each card on the same colour pile Hopefully they will sort the cards according to background colour although you may find a few yellow owls in the yellow card pile.

My toddler loved it and she hasn't really given her older brother a chance to play with it yet. The kit comes with two scene boards and several Colorforms stick-ons. It also comes with a travel friendly pouch.
This kit is a great tool to use as you are retelling the story or coming up with your own version of the story. My daughter also liked to use the Colorforms for matching activities and liked to just have them hang out out and watch a movie with her too.
The Colorforms are durable and bendy which is also a great selling point. The only things we didn't love about the Colorforms were that they were small easy to lose and that some of the stick-ons were animals that weren't mentioned or seen in the book which made my daughter frustrated. We got these last week and have loved watching them while eating Gruffalo Crumble. The illustrations were exquisite and the actors and actresses did such a phenomenal job telling the story.
Although my kids thought the Gruffalo was a little scary at first, they ended up loving these movies and ask to watch them daily!
Their favorite characters were the clever mouse and the baby Gruffalo! To check out more Gruffalo products and resources, you can head over to the following spots:.

I would purchase this and highly recommend. Easy to play and kept my son entertained- fun for all! Katie Prince — Joshua 4 Years. When this arrived the cards looked good quality and brightly coloured. Packaging stands out as bright and catches your attention. I had to read the instructions several times before I could even begin to explain to my 5 year old.
When playing the game it was quite simple and the game finished very quickly. This game required us giving Freya a lot of help when playing the game. The age is not appropriate, my rather intelligent 5 year old struggled and once playing the game was over pretty quickly. My daughter did learn new rhyming words. Some of the games were simple enough for my daughter to play but did not hold her attention for long. We used these cards to play snap and pairing games.
